The tv is like a magnet for loudness. Plus it’s incentive to get them there before 10 pm. Come to think of it” 8 pm bedtime” came along about the same time as “no tv til the kids are in bed”

The Boy has learned that he will win that fight anytime before 5:30 pm (a.k.a. the time before Dad gets home). Anytime after that, Dad wins.

Like you, it amuses me to watch them duke it out and see who’s gonna get their way. Like you, I have too much other stuff to do to really care… dinner, dishes, shopping, cleaning, letting dogs and cats in and out. I’d just as soon have a movie on in the background as opposed to gunshots and exploding bombs.
